Private Coaching

It’s Personal.

Your practice is a very personal experience. As many physical practices — whether that be in yoga, hand balancing, or strength training — are about getting involved in a community, it is also an individual exploration. No two bodies or journeys are the same and we each have our own path.

A classroom offers a lot, and I believe it is an essential ingredient to our learning. But a classroom doesn't give the same attention to detail as personalised training and guidance do. In 1:1 training we are able to change our lens, taking micro and macro views towards the elements which are needed to reach our desired goals.

The students I work with are all striving towards different goals, but each shows up with a level of commitment to our time together, aiming to put their best foot forward. As I tell every client before we start working together, it’s a two-way street. I can give you the tools and show you how, but unless you do the programming and homework, unless you practice, you won't arrive at your goal. There is no magic trick or shortcut.  As a coach, I share all that I possibly can to help you get to where you want to be, but your success requires your effort.

From wanting to develop the skill of handstand to wanting to build strength and mobility for yoga, to personalised yoga classes, each student has their own goals and is on their own journey. They require their own individual set of tools to carve their way forward. In my 1:1 sessions, I help my students to learn to use and implement these tools.

My own personal journey has been an exploration of a multitude of different practices— yoga, weight training, calisthenics, gymnastics hand balancing, and movement. Yoga and hand balancing are my main disciplines and everything else is designed to feed into what I practice and teach. I have found that developing a healthy and diverse ecosystem of physical movement is key for developing a practice built for longevity, as well as keeping your mind sharp in learning new skills.

And this is what my goal is, for both you and myself through this path. I teach from my own experience, so everything I share is something I have gone through, experienced, explored and refined. My goal is to help you hone in on building a practice that is sustainable and developing a body and mind that strives towards longevity. It's about building yourself holistically, creating the scaffolding to be the architect of your own journey, both in training and in life.

If you're ready to pick up the tools, get your hands dirty, and start building, then let's jump on a call, have a chat, and start paving your path to get you to where you want to be.

If you're still uncertain of what you want to start building or how our sessions will work, then keep reading. I will explain a bit more and you can see what students have said about our time working together.

Why Should You Even Bother Investing the Money and Time into 1:1 Coaching?

Good question.
Why should you?

Whenever a student asks me how long a handstand will take to achieve, my response is always, ‘How badly do you want it?’

How willing are you to commit to learning, training, and developing the skill or achieving the goal you have set your sights on?

For everything that has been of value and importance in my life, I have worked with a coach. Whether it has been in strength training, hand balancing, life, or business, I have sought out a coach to help me learn, understand, and maximise my effort and time. They have always provided a level of support and accountability that I wouldn't have been able to create for myself. They helped me to perform and be at my best, overcome the barriers I was facing and feel more fulfilled each day as I aligned myself with my goals and values.

A coach helps provide a different point of view, asks you the hard questions, provides support and feedback, and holds you accountable. In my experience, it's been someone to bounce off of and someone to help me unlock new skills and explore new paths. For example, I never knew I loved to write until I dove into 8 months of business coaching, and I was made to do an exercise of writing for 30 minutes each day for a week. Suddenly, I was exploring and developing a new skill and love I had never even considered.

1:1 coaching is a big investment of both time and money. But with the right coach, you may not only achieve your goals but also open yourself up to new avenues, new skills and new knowledge.

As your coach, I am there with you each and every step of the way.

I knew Miles through his amazing yoga classes, and decided to reach out to him for 1-1 sessions. My goal was to develop more general body strength and also to work on my pincha. Miles created a tailored program to help me reach my objectives, which I am still following to this day.

I could immediately see some progress in areas which I thought were out of reach for my body. Not only I got much stronger, and developed great body awareness, but also my confidence has gone up a LOT.

Every week, I was so looking forward to our sessions. Miles is extremely knowledgeable in all-things anatomy. He is an encouraging, patient and approachable teacher, who really is passionated about making you succeed. I cannot thank him enough to have been an important part of my journey.

I am super happy with the results of the online coaching! I improved on many little things that turned out to be very important in the handstand practice, and it feels good to finally know where I need to be putting some extra energy.

I also got a good idea of how the body works when it goes upside down, and I really struggled with that, especially the hips and shoulder area.

You are a super knowledgeable and patient person 🙏 thank you for sharing!

I know Miles from his Rocket classes that he teaches around the major yoga shalas in London, which are dynamic and energetic, his cues and adjustments are always spot on – so I got excited when he announced he had a space available in his 1-1 schedule.

What started as booking a block of sessions to learn how to handstand from a great teacher turned out to give so much more. The way Miles structures his sessions, how he observes, asks questions, how he answers questions and adjusts and tailors everything he does with you, very intuitive with bags of knowledge – just made me so much more aware of how my body moves and functions and he gave me the confidence to improve it, just go for it.

The sessions not only improved my handstand, by activating and strengthening parts of my body it started to balance it so much more which in turn changed my yoga practice as well as just walking around in everyday life - much lighter and easier. Pretty awesome.

“I took some private 1:1 online sessions with Miles to work on my handstands. Those classes are amazing, not easy, with a lot of strength and anatomical work, which have given me the right tools to progress in my practice. Not only do I recommend any of his classes, but I will also, myself, repeat the 1:1 sessions very soon. Oh, and Miles is the loveliest teacher I have ever had.”

If you're thinking about booking some 1-1 time with Miles, do it! I stumbled into one of Miles' classes on my lunch break at a tiny studio around the corner from where I used to work. I was expecting a quick jump around but I was thrilled Miles offered so much more. I've been working with a few injuries and Miles has supported me with some drills to improve my hip flexor, adductor and core strength. He's listened to feedback and when I've really not been able to do something he's quickly adapted to find something that works for me. Through his own practice Miles has developed an impressive understanding of how to build strength and flexibility. Most importantly (to me) Miles' teaching is grounded in kindness and compassion. He is a beautiful teacher and yogi and I feel so blessed to have crossed paths with him in this life.

I had some 1:1 sessions with Miles to build strong foundations for my practice. I loved the sessions, so much fun! And they have been truly amazing in making me feel more secure in my practice. He understood exactly what I needed and provided so many insightful tips and adjustments.

Miles, what an incredible yoga teacher you are. You provided me with classes that pushed my mind and body to the limits. However, you are always mindful of telling me to not go beyond, and the theory of less is more. Your 1-2-1 classes have made a massive difference to my practice, knowing how to be comfortable in the poses and push myself. Thank you for being such a fantastic teacher (and friend) Miles.

How to get started

FAQs

What is the Purpose of Scheduling a Call?

Setting up a call allows me to get to know you and you to understand more about the training program. We will work through some questions so I can begin to know more about what it is you want to achieve, your dreams and desires, and how I can help you overcome any barriers that you may be facing.

How Does it Work?

Sessions are held via Zoom video call or in-person when possible. You can join via your phone or computer. Together, we'll work specifically on your goals using the best practices and techniques to serve you. This is highly individualised and designed to help you get the most benefits in the least amount of time possible.

why do I need to apply?

I am only able to take on a certain amount of people at a time and I want to be sure each person I take on is a great fit for working together and willing to put the work in.
